A friend of mine suggested that I try a dating service after the success that he found when he tried it. He went into it blindly and came out with both his eyes and his nose wide open for the woman that soon after became his wife. Their story really is a sweet one. She was practically a professional when it came to using the dating service. She had met several gentlemen, a few of whom she dated for more than a week or two. It was sort of a past time for her. She always said that meeting people through a dating service was a great way to make connections and build your network for professional purposes. I never doubted that. Apparently my friend did not either. As a spur of the moment thing, he decided to try it out. He figured that there would not be much harm in it, so there was nothing for him to lose. He did not meet his wife right away, either. Actually, he had been a member of the dating service for almost a year before he finally found her. He pretty much had the same attitude that she had about it. It was a hobby for him. Every week he had a new date and none of them ever turned into a serious long-term relationship. Somehow, as if it were some sort of cosmic thing, both he and she decided at the same time that it was time to settle down and find a long-term partner. Then, they just happened to stumble across each other at the store one day. They were both in the breakfast food aisle and the sparks immediately flew. They did not exchange phone numbers or addresses then but when they checked in with the dating service later on that week, they were surprised to learn that they were both members of the same service! They could not turn each other away, so they went out on a date. After that, they were seeing each other on a weekly basis. Eventually they started seeing each other on an almost daily basis. They were so well-suited for each other that they decided to give marriage a shot. That was ten years ago. After the good results that they both received from a dating service, maybe I should try it out! There is nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
